This place has to be heaven on earth. It's in a completely unspoilt and slightly isolated part of Koh Samui, which is no mean feat in this vastly over-developed island. Go there quickly before this last oasis disappears forever. We had a luxury bungalow with our own pool - worth every last penny. Huge, comfortable beds, 2 large, flat screen TVs - I forgot to mention our own lounge; our own garden, with our own pool. This is on top of the hotel's 3 pools, one of which is at least 25m long. We could fall out of our garden onto the pristine beach. The sea was warm and inviting. The bay is totally protected by a natural reef about 400m out. This means that the water is highly protected and shallow - not more than 1.3m deep with the tide in. It is easy to swim in, kayak, snorkel etc, but only when the tide is in. When it's out, just paddle in the warm seas. The area is covered in small sand crabs - not at all dangerous, just interesting. If we saw more than 6 people on the beach at a time, it was a busy day! The hotel is just amazing too. It is small and attention is paid to every detail. My only criticism (hotel please note), is that you are given 4 plastic bottles of drinking water each day. What an awful waste of resources! They really should use a water-filtration system, or just give jugs of fresh water. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. There was a mixture of all nationalities in the guests, but this did not seem to cause any problems. Now for a word of warning - a new resort is being built in the bay. It is 5 star, but it could well affect the area. My big concern is if they dredge the bay to make it more "user friendly". This has been done at Chaweng, and has made it just clinical and like anywhere else in the world. It would be a catastrophe, both ecologically and in terms of enjoyment. There are some rocks under the water, but simple swim shoes or even flip-flops were easy to wear. Having said this, at present, I would go back tomorrow and just float in the sea forever!!! Great for honeymoons. Source of data from Tripadvisor : This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
