| I've stayed once before and am more likely to stay again after this second stay. The staff is good and the breakfast has a good selection every day. Although it's among beer bars and in the heart of the action, the walls are thick concrete so the music and noise is not noticeable above the AC fan noise.
The new Central Mall is basically next door and has a great and cheap food court, although pricey shopping.
It's about 15 minutes walk to Walking Street, but the baht buses (blue pickups with seating) do a loop south along the Beach Road and north along the 2nd Road. 10 baht will get you anywhere along the loop and 10 baht back.
A downside is the property is in a densely built area so it lacks the nice landscaping/garden of hotels a little farther out of town. But that's true of most properties in this area except for higher end ones like the Marriott or the Hard Rock. | I really liked the front desk staff. Friendly and helpful.
Terrible was the pool staff. When I went the lady told me: no towels clean, cannot go pool now, have to wait here for fresh, I cannot bring later. ... lazy and unhelpful.
What I did not like is the prepayment of the whole stay. It already started during my trip before. Internet said you pay on check out, but at check in they wanted to charge me.
