Overall
The hotel is conveniently located, one of the cheaper ones for the size of the rooms. If you want to relive Bangkok as it used to be then this is the hotel. Not for the trendies or snobbish.

Overall
Although the location is a little far from the commercial center, a walk to BTS station (either to and from Prom Phong or Thonglo is a good form of exercise. The hotel rate is reasonable for an average earner-guest like me. I will always be your loyal guest

Overall
The Rex is obviously an old building that has been well-maintained. The hotel appears to have been built in the 70's - and shows, but it also lends a certain character. Don't expect to be bowled over by the staff or food or service. What you can expect is a decent, clean room in a good neighborhood (Sukhumvit) with close access to the Skytrain and Sukhumvit nightlife. If you're looking for an ultra-modern hotel with all the amenities, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a good-value hotel where you will stay while you go out and explore the city, this is your place. I'll be staying here again.
