| I had a big trouble when I was checking out on Dec 6th. A receptionist who was a quite old man, wearing black flames glasses claimed that they have never received my reservation and payment thus they did NOT allow me to check out without payment at that time.
He unbelievably asserted that the hotel never have had system to collect money via internet!
I was in a terrible mood however had to convince him I have paid on hotel’s website.
Finally, I made him understand with showing hotel’s confirmation mail on internet I’ve received
I almost had to pay in order to release myself from the hotel unless I showed it.
I lost more than 30 minutes for just a checking out processer. It was terrible if I was short of time to board on a flight or get a train, bus…
I hereby strongly clime that hotel must educate not only him but also any other receptionists to catch up with current reservation system and how to do the way of double check for customer data.

| I am a frequent visitor to Bangkok. Stayed with many branded hotels (such as Conrad, Four Seasons, Dusit, etc) and famous serviced apartments (e.g. Center Point, CNC, etc.) however very recently I stayed with Rex Hotel. Helpfull staff, good location, and above all good food all made my stay with Rex a memorable experience. And guess what all of that at a price of 1,200 bhat per night (one fourth of what I was spending at other locations). | The room rate is very reasonable if the location and quality of the room are concerned.
If I can complain a little bit, the air conditioner is too powerful and the bed is too hard for me.
One bed side lamp was dying.

| The Rex is obviously an old building that has been well-maintained. The hotel appears to have been built in the 70's - and shows, but it also lends a certain character. Don't expect to be bowled over by the staff or food or service. What you can expect is a decent, clean room in a good neighborhood (Sukhumvit) with close access to the Skytrain and Sukhumvit nightlife. If you're looking for an ultra-modern hotel with all the amenities, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a good-value hotel where you will stay while you go out and explore the city, this is your place.
